What We Offer
Nonprofit Resource Guide
Our Nonprofit Resource Guide is a collection of nearly 40 local nonprofits that are serving our community. This downloadable PDF was created to increase awareness of the many amazing organizations in our area and the programs and resources they provide. If you are interested in your organization being included in this resource, please follow this LINK.
Training
Heart for ENC facilitates a variety of group training sessions offered on a quarterly rhythm throughout the year. Our training events are open to the public and offered at no cost.
These are focused on 3 Core Competencies that are critical to the success of any organization: Leadership Development, Organizational Effectiveness, and Resource Sustainability. We offer large group workshops, small group intensives, and one-on-one coaching to help meet the needs of organizations.
In addition to our ongoing focus on the core competencies, we strive to source and provide training on a wide range of topics, utilizing local and national experts to bring a breadth of knowledge and practical tools to help equip nonprofit leaders as they serve their communities.
Coaching & Consulting
We offer coaching and consulting to nonprofit organizations to help them to process and apply the information we present. Every nonprofit is unique, and we are willing to walk alongside individual organizations to build practical plans for application and implementation of the resources we provide. Coaching is typically a short-term engagement and offered at no cost with meetings facilitated by the Heart for ENC team.
We also offer consulting services, which provide a deeper level of engagement with our team. Consulting projects are provided as a “fee-for-service” resource and are carefully scoped to meet unique needs of individual nonprofits.
Consulting projects can include opportunities such as:
- Thrive Index Review – executive or full leadership team
- Nonprofit SWOT Analysis
- Comprehensive Strategic Planning advisory
- Staff annual evaluation and assessments – such as a 360 Review
- Staff Leadership Training
- Board Governance Advisory – educating and equipping the board
*Consulting projects may be facilitated by Heart for ENC team or one of several local partners that we can help you source.
Networking
We are convinced that our nonprofit community is healthier and more effective when organizations are connected with each other. Heart for ENC seeks to provide consistent opportunities for nonprofit leaders to connect with their peers and with the broader community. We have seen over and over how relationships can open doors, encourage collaboration, and provide intangible resources that move us all forward.
A connected nonprofit community is powerful, and we work hard to provide opportunities for organizations, leaders, and the community to interact in meaningful ways. In addition to seasonal community-wide events, we provide weekly casual gatherings that we call Coffee and Connections.
Thrive Index
The Thrive Index is an annual self-assessment that was developed by our friends at Mission Triangle. This assessment provides a snapshot of your organization’s overall health.
Once your organization completes the assessment, our team can provide analysis and plans for next steps, implementation, and growth.
This tool is a valuable starting point for digging deeper into the health of your organization through the lens of the six nonprofit core competencies that Heart for ENC teaches:
- Board Governance
- Staff Leadership
- Strategic Planning
- Organizational Measurement
- Transformational Fundraising
- Marketing and Communications.
Leadership Cohort
We believe that leaders all need a place to grow, but also to be known, supported, and challenged in a healthy way.
The Nonprofit Leaders’ Cohort is a learning-based small group of like-minded nonprofit executive leaders who are committed to walking together as they lead their organizations. This one-year cohort is designed to support, equip, and fortify leaders by providing a peer community of support and practical accountability along with tools, resources, and guidance.
The group will meet monthly and will be facilitated by Heart for ENC staff with support from various community and business leaders, as well as resources provided through our partnership with Mission Triangle. Membership in our cohort also includes access to physical resources at our Nonprofit Business Center, including our Training Center and Conference Room.
For more information about our Cohorts, contact Sid Bradsher at sid@heartforenc.org
The Heart for ENC team has done a great job reaching out to and serving local ministries. Sid’s experience is a phenomenal resource for area ministries to tap into. They have done a great job helping FCA pursue excellence in our specific lane of ministry.
